Most sun control films are designed exclusively for glass – but not this one: The Silver Dark Sun Control Film for Plexiglas has been specifically developed for use on plastic surfaces such as Plexiglas, polycarbonate and acrylic glass. It is applied to the exterior and is therefore particularly suited for carport roofs, canopies, greenhouses and partition walls made of plastic.

For Plexiglas and Acrylic

Conventional sun control films often fail to adhere reliably to plastic surfaces or damage the material. This film has been developed with a special adhesive that bonds permanently to Plexiglas, polycarbonate and acrylic glass – without attacking the surface. Exterior application ensures that solar radiation is reflected before it heats up the plastic surface.

Typical applications on plastic surfaces:

• Carport roofs made of polycarbonate or Plexiglas
• Canopies and roofing made of acrylic glass
• Greenhouses with plastic glazing
• Partition walls and light panels made of transparent plastic

Important: The film must only be applied to flat, fully degassed surfaces. Curved panels or surfaces with residual outgassing are not suitable. Partial surface application is not possible.

Suitable Surfaces

This film can be applied to a wide range of materials and glazing types:

• Plexiglas and acrylic glass – flat and degassed
• Polycarbonate – flat and degassed

Note: This film is not approved for road use and must not be applied to vehicle glazing.

Installation

The film is applied from the outside onto the cleaned, flat surface. Thanks to the self-adhesive backing, installation is completed in just a few steps – instructions and an installation kit are included. Please ensure that plastic surfaces are fully degassed before applying the film.

Warranty

• 5 years when applied to vertical surfaces
• 3 years when applied to angled and horizontal surfaces (roofs, canopies)
